Having trouble deleting the default Shared Services Provider (SSP) from the GUI? For example, the delete option is greyed out. To do this, run the following command line:

stsadm -o deletessp -title "ShareServices1" -deletedatabases -force

You should then get:

"The operation completed successfully."
