Came across this one on a new development install of Windows Server 2003 and SharePoint 2007. I went into Central Administration and went to create a new web application. On adding a host header, I noticed that the URL didn't update, but didn't see any JavaScript errors so thought nothing of it. As I press the OK button, nothing happened. To resolve this issue, I added the central administration URL to my trusted sites. Simples.
